Like Reese Witherspoon? No...I like her though! Like the candy? No...although one of my favs and deliciously sweet! Reese Caroline Sanders DID turn out to be beautiful like Reese Witherspoon, one of "my favs", and a real sweetie!
We went to the Zoo again this past weekend. Our main reason for going this time was to see the new tiger cubs. There are four new cubs to be exact. Their births were under wraps because they're pretty rare and they don't always survive. I guess the Zoo wanted to make sure they were alive and thriving before making the big announcement.
Here are some pics of the new tiger cubs and some of them with their momma.
Pulling your tail is fun!
God bless this momma for having four at once.
She looked exhausted.
I should never complain of being tired again.
Here's my little cub watching them with her daddy.
Mr. Orangutan, back off please.
This baby already has a momma.
Momma elephant with her babe.
Reese is now a proud momma of this stuffed elephant.
She's in love.
Baby mine, don't you cry
Baby mine, dry your eyes
Rest your head close to my heart
Never to part, baby of mine
Little one when you play
Don't you mind what you say
Let those eyes sparkle and shine
Never a tear, baby of mine
From your head to your toes
You're so sweet, goodness knows
You are so precious to me
Cute as can be, baby of mine
This baby of mine, this baby of mine!
Boy oh boy do I love this baby of mine!
Here's a special video I dedicate to all those mommas reading who love their babies like I love this baby of mine!
Gosh, it makes me cry everytime I see this Disney scene.
Nana watched Reese when I returned to teaching last April. It was bittersweet for me. It was great to see my students and friends at work and close out the school year with them, but it was difficult leaving Reese each morning to do so.
Knowing Reese was in my mom's care made it easier, but I wouldn't call it easy. Most days, when I arrived home, I found them together in the nursery and mostly I found Reese asleep on her "Muffet Tuffet." This was the name my mom gave to the combination of Reese's bobby pillow and her lap.
My mom wondered if Reese would remember the special six + weeks they spent together, because she knew she'd never forget. Well, I can't claim Reese remembers this time, however, she definitely remembers her Nana when she sees her.
I read somewhere that babies study the faces of the people that are most important to them. People that care for them. People they can trust. People that meet their needs.
Reese knows my mom's face.
She knows she's an important person in her life,
and
She would never of fired her a** if she didn't have to.
Yesterday we took Reese to the Orr Family Farm. They have all kinds of activities for kids to do. There's a carousel, a train, pony rides, a petting zoo, a hayride, a pumpkin patch, and a corn maze.
When Reese is older I am sure she'll enjoy all these things.
We decided we would only partake in three of the activities this year.
This is the "hayride" (a.k.a tractor ride) that got us to the pumpkin patch.
The pumpkin patch where we helped Reese pick out her 1st pumpkin.
No not that one...
Maybe this one...
Ahh, there it is! Reese's first pumpkin!
Then we were onto the corn maze!
It was a beautiful day to spend with my beautiful family.
My oldest brother, Bryan, and his girlfriend, Amy, got hitched last Saturday at the Mayo Hotel in downtown Tulsa.
Reese also turned 9 months old.
It was such a special day, on both accounts.
The night before the wedding, Joe and I went to their rehearsal dinner. It was nice to get dressed up for a change and eat a yummy dinner (sans Reese).
We did talk about her an awful lot as we were stuffing our faces with crab cakes, mushroom ravioli, salad, steaks, bread, potatoes, asparagus, and creme brulee.
Reese was in good hands in our absence with her Grandma and Grandpa Sanders.
There she rolled around on the floor eating shoes and newspaper,
Got loved on by her Grandparents and Aunt Tiffany,
and overall had a ball I hear.
Thanks for keeping Reese on her first overnight. I know she enjoyed spending time with you guys!
As for Joe and I, and the rest of my family, we had a blast dancing, celebrating, laughing, and taking photos in the photo booth.
Old sisters,
New sisters,
and even old married couples took pics together!
One of my best memories of the night was when this song played and we all got up and danced and sang it to one another.
We traveled to North Carolina a few weeks ago to go to the Green Packers vs. Carolina Panthers game. We were able to go with Joe's brother and his wife and we stayed with them, too.
Reese got to spend time with her adorable cousins,
Ryan and Dylan.
While we went to the game the three kiddos stayed home with a babysitter. They were all representing the Packers though.
Reese LOVED Ryan and Dylan's playroom. There were so many new toys she'd never seen before. This is where Reese took her first crawling strides.
She hasn't slowed down since.
Thanks Ryan and Dylan for having such an awesome playroom that encourages non crawlers to crawl.
Pre-game family photo.
Post-game group photo.
Joe calls Reese his good luck charm because the Packers have yet to lose since her birth. They were even Super Bowl champions.
Hopefully, the good luck continues after posting this.
